Gema Gayete

Gema Gayete Domínguez is currently researching a PhD in Applied Linguistics at University Jaume I, as part of a grant from the Spanish Ministry for Science, Innovation and Universities (FPU). She graduated in English Studies from the same university with an Academic Achievement Award, and she also holds an MA in English Language Teaching in Multilingual Contexts (MELACOM). During the four years of the degree she participated in the project “Programa Estudia i Investiga a l’UJI” and the project "USE" (Unitat de Suport Educatiu). She is also a member of the research group LAELA and her research interests include Third Language Acquisition, Language Attitudes, CLIL, Multilingual Education, Translanguaging and Pragmatics.

Gema has received a prize for her work on the Estudia i Investiga programme from the Banco Sabadell Foundation Partnership Programme for the Promotion of Talent, she has also received an Ernest Breva Academic Excellence prize, she has been awarded a research collaboration grant for the academic year 2019/2020, and she has received the EDUPLUS grant for the elaboration of a research project dealing with the sociolinguistic profile of the Valencian Community during the academic year 2020-2021.
