Sofia Martín

Sofía Martín-Laguna is an assistant professor at Universitat Jaume I. She graduated in English Philology from the Universitat Jaume I (Spain) with an Academic Achievement Award. She holds an MA in English Language Teaching in Secondary Education and another MA in English Language Teaching in Multilingual Contexts. Sofía completed her PhD as part of a grant from the FPU programme of the Spanish Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte. Her PhD thesis, which was directed by Dr. Eva Alcón Soler, was awarded Excellent Cum Laude with Extraordinary Prize. Sofía was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Amsterdam with Dr. Ineke Vedder. She is the author of Tasks, Pragmatics and Multilingualism in the Classroom: A Portrait of Adolescent Writing in Multiple Languages (Multilingual Matters, 2020). Her research interests include second and third language acquisition, discourse development, pragmatic development, pragmatic marker learning, Task-Based Language Teaching and multilingual education.
