The research group LAELA (Applied Linguistics to the Teaching of the English Language) was founded in 1999 by Prof. Eva Alcón, and is currently directed by Prof. Pilar Safont. All members are part of the English Studies Department and the Pedagogy Department at Universitat Jaume I in Castelló de la Plana (Spain). Their research interests are on Applied linguistics, more specifically on the teaching and learning of English as a Foreign, Second and Third Language. More specifically, the group deals with the following main areas:
